Purpose: Self-improvement, loyalty and righteousness, ritual-oriented culture is the core essence of Dragon & Lion Dance, which can be introduced and understood by people around the world, especially those beyond Asia when they participate into Dragon & Lion Dance movement.

Members of International Dragon & Lion Federation or other guest representative teams

V  Qualification and Requirements:

1.Certified member units of International Dragon & Lion Federation or guest representative teams

2.Each representative team is qualified for a Nanshi Dance team, a Beishi Dance team and a Long dance team.

3.Two Nanshi Dance teams and two Beishi Dance teams and two Long Dance teams are qualified from the host country (Organizer).

4.The champion teams of the 5th International Dragon & Lion Dance Championship are qualified except those from the host countries.

5.Certificate of identity is required from every qualified player to prove their identity conforms to the nationality or the region.

6.Official health certificate issued from medical institutions of home country or region is required.

7.Local laws, legal regulations, regulations and rules of this championship are to be observed by all players.

8.A principle of the organizing committee is to encourage more representative teams especially those beyond Asia to enter for this championship so the qualification requirements are negotiable.

P.S.: Each representative team is to select a sub-event from both category A and category B, which amounts to 3 events of 6 subevents in all.

VII  Working Staff

1Nanshi Dance team: a team of 10 members including a team lead, a coach, 8 players;

2Beishi Dance team: a team of 10 members including a team lead, a coach, 8 players;

3Long Dance team: a team of 13 members including a team lead, a coach, 11 players.

4  Players are qualified to enter for selected subevent as many as possible. Any service staff out of the list should pay for the cost of expenses during the competition.

On 20th Sept. 2017 (Wednesday): umpires report to duty;

On 21st Sept. 2017 (Thursday): representative teams report to duty;

On 22nd Sept. 2017 (Friday): prepare to perform on the court; hold a joint session before the game;

On 23rd Sept. 2017 (Saturday): opening ceremony; game play

On 24th Sept. 2017 (Sunday): game play; award prize

On 25th Sept. 2017 (Monday): depart after breakfast

XI   Rules and Regulations

1Judging regulations and rules have been specified in the book International Competition and Judging Rules of Wulong & Nanshi & Beishi published by People’s Sports Press in 2011, which is certified by International Dragon & Lion Federation.

2Lot-drawing method is used by all events to decide the order of performance before the competition.

3Competition will be held only once in all events to decide the place of each team.

XII Placement and Awards

1  Nanshi Dance: the first three teams of each event including optional routine, compulsory routine, traditional routine, racing and obstacle in difference regions including Asian region and other regions will be awarded gold medal, silver medal and bronze medal respectively with respective certificates as well.

2  Beishi Dance: the first three teams of each event including optional routine, compulsory routine, racing and obstacle in difference regions including Asian region and other regions will be awarded gold medal, silver medal and bronze medal respectively with respective certificates as well.

3 Long Dance: the first three teams of each event including optional routine, compulsory routine, luminous Long dance routine, racing and obstacle in difference regions including Asian region and other regions will be awarded gold medal, silver medal and bronze medal respectively with respective certificates as well.

XIII  Costs of Expense

1According to the given number of each team, boarding and accommodation are provided during the competition by organizing committee. Housing accommodation: 5 standard rooms are allocated to Nanshi Dance team; 4 standard rooms are allocated to Beishi Dance team; 7 standard rooms are allocated to Long Dance team. Boarding: buffet.

2A round trip service from Shanghai Hongqiao Airport or Shanghai Pudong International Airport or Shanghai Railway Station according to the given number of each team is provided by the organizing committee, while other round trip expenses and equipment transportation expenses are excluded.

3The charges for boarding and accommodation for active staff of each team is 40 dollars a day per man, and 160 dollars for 4 days in all with subsidy from the organizing committee for the rest of the expenses. Please report in advance if there is any service staff on team, boarding and accommodation is available with the charge of 80 dollars a day per man.

 XIV   Equipment

1A Standard court with a carpet of 20M×20M is selected for the competition.

2Two sets of standard dragon equipments, Nanshi equipments and Beishi equipments are available in the venue with sounding instruments such as gong,drums and cymbal and other stereo instruments. Please rememer to bring luminous Long Dance equipment, for there is no luminous Long Dance equipment on the spot.

3Disposition of piles for Nanshi Dance, square table for Beishi Dance and other equipments for the above mentioned skilled events are available in the venue.

4Any decoration of equipment or disposition of piles or square table provided by the organizing committee should have permission from the committee in advance. The decoration should be done easily and conveniently and shouldn’t affect other team’s use of equipment.

XV  Pass

All participants (active staff) will be given a pass card to pass through the entrance to specified stadium or hotels. No one can go to these specified areas without having a pass at hand.

XVI   Registration Duration

From now on until 31st July, 2017

XVII  Registration, Duty Report and Departure

1  Registration: The first period of registration starts from now on to 30th June, 2017, please write back to confirm the attendance to this competition; the second period of registration starts from 1st July, 2017 to 31st July, 2017, please fill in the registration form and send it back to Secretary of International Dragon & Lion Federation.

 XIX International Membership Fee

 Please hand in the overdued international membership fee when report to duty, or the representative team will be disqualified for the competition.

XX  Sponsor’s Claim

1  Judgements will be carried out according to the book International Competition and Judging Rules of Wulong & Nanshi & Beishi (edition of 2011) certified by International Dragon & Lion Federation.

2Judgement made by the organizing committee is the final version for no appeal court is set in this competition.

3Local laws and legal regulations and rules of the host country should be observed. Warnings will be given to those who disturb or break rules or put on game stoppage; if the influence is severely bad, the team will be punished with a two-year suspension of all international tournaments; further investigation will be done to pursue the legal liabilities to those lawbreakers.

4Life insurance from home country or region are required for all qualified teams for basic medical service is available during the competition but any illness or accidental injuries will be paid by the qualified team on themselves.
